Ocean Breeze, a one day band

In June of 09 my friend and former bandmate Greg hit me up about playing a last minute show with the band he had joined, Last of the Blacksmiths, also classic bros. Despite a complete lack of “solo material,” I accepted the challenge and recruited LOTB to play with me. This recording is the result.

The guys rolled up to my place and we set up shop on the patio for a warm afternoon outdoor jam sesh. It started with a little riff I had been messing around with, then we bust into a couple traditional songs: Wagoner’s Lad and Columbus Stockade Blues.  Jams and vibes throughout.

Later that evening we went up to Synchronicity Space in LA to do the show.. I brought my field recorder and ripped it. A one day only band. Maybe we’ll do something like this again, maybe not.. Hope you enjoy the ride!

Stats: Nathan Wanta played wurli and sang, Greg Gheorghiu played drums and sang, Nigel Pavao played synth and sang, Khris Branco played drums, Mr. Crawford Coates of Duces Wild played guitar at the practice but did not appear on the recording, I played guitar. Crawford’s dog, Primo, was our producer and spirit animal.
